Your Flat Tummy Summer Starts Now

Your Flat Tummy Summer Starts Now

Summer bodies aren't built in a panic two weeks before December.

They're built through the little things you start doing now.

And no — we're not talking about crash diets, starving yourself or spending two hours a day on a treadmill.

If you want to feel lighter, less bloated, stronger and more confident by summer, the best thing you can do is give yourself time.

Think simple habits, repeated consistently.

Here are the Flat Tummy habits we'd focus on over the next few months.

1. Stop chasing quick fixes

It's tempting to wait until summer is around the corner and then suddenly try to change everything.

No carbs.

No sugar.

Two workouts a day.

Tiny portions.

And usually?

It lasts about five days.

A better approach is to build habits you can actually maintain.

You don't need a perfect Monday.

You need lots of pretty good days stacked together.

Your summer rule:

Don't try to lose everything quickly. Start getting consistent early.

2. Put protein at the centre of your meals

Protein should be one of the foundations of your Flat Tummy routine.

It helps support muscle, keeps meals satisfying and makes it easier to build balanced meals without constantly grazing.

Try to include a good protein source at each main meal.

Think:

- Eggs
- Greek yoghurt
- Chicken
- Fish
- Lean meat
- Cottage cheese
- Tofu
- Protein shakes
- Protein Water

Instead of asking:

“What should I remove from my diet?”

Start asking:

“Where's my protein?”

Gloot Protein Water gives you 16g of protein per serving in a light, refreshing format.

It's an easy way to increase your daily protein intake without another heavy shake.

3. Fibre is your Flat Tummy friend

If bloating, irregularity and sluggish digestion are constantly making you feel uncomfortable, take a look at your fibre intake.

Fibre supports normal digestion and regularity, and it can also help meals feel more satisfying.

Aim to get fibre from foods like:

Vegetables.

Fruit.

Whole grains.

Beans and legumes.

Seeds.

And increase fibre gradually rather than suddenly going from very little to loads overnight.

Most importantly?

Drink enough water alongside it.

Flat Tummy Fibre makes adding a daily fibre habit easy.

Add it consistently rather than only reaching for fibre when you're already feeling uncomfortable.

Because your Flat Tummy routine starts with a happy tummy.

4. Learn the difference between fat and bloating

This one matters.

Not every day that your stomach feels bigger means you've suddenly gained body fat.

Your stomach can look and feel different because of:

- Constipation
- Your menstrual cycle
- A high-sodium meal
- Eating very quickly
- Large meals
- Certain foods that don't agree with you
- Stress
- Changes in hydration

So don't let one bloated afternoon convince you that all your progress has disappeared.

Pay attention to patterns instead.

Which foods make you uncomfortable?

Are you drinking enough?

Are you regular?

Are you rushing through every meal?

Understanding your body is far more useful than punishing it.

5. Water. Water. Water.

Yes, you've heard this a thousand times.

But it's still one of the easiest habits to neglect.

Keeping hydrated supports normal body function and digestion, and it can help you distinguish thirst from mindless snacking.

The easiest trick?

Carry your bottle everywhere.

At your desk.

In the car.

At gym.

Next to your bed.

Make drinking water something that happens automatically.

If plain water isn't exactly exciting, Loaded Water makes it easier to turn your bottle into a daily functional habit.

Hydrate.

Creatine.

Collagen.

Energy.

Pick what fits your day and load your water.

6. Walk more than you think you need to

Not every part of your summer plan needs to involve a gym.

Walking is underrated.

A walk after meals.

Parking further away.

Taking the stairs.

A morning walk before work.

Walking while you take a call.

All of those little bits of movement add up.

Instead of relying on one intense workout to compensate for an otherwise completely sedentary day, aim to move regularly.

Your Flat Tummy rule:

Train a few times a week. Move every day.

7. Start lifting weights

If your summer goal is to look firmer, feel stronger and improve your body composition, don't spend the next few months only chasing calories on a treadmill.

Strength training matters.

You don't have to lift enormous weights.

Start with two or three sessions a week and focus on movements such as:

Squats.

Lunges.

Rows.

Presses.

Deadlifts.

Glute bridges.

Machines.

Dumbbells.

Then gradually become stronger.

The aim isn't simply to become smaller.

It's to build a body that feels capable.

8. Watch the liquid calories and “little extras”

Sometimes it's not our main meals causing the problem.

It's everything around them.

The sugary coffee.

The drink while cooking.

The handful of snacks.

Another handful later.

Weekend drinks.

The bites off the kids' plates.

You don't need to obsessively track every mouthful.

But becoming aware of the things you consume without really thinking about them can make a huge difference.

Ask yourself:

“Do I actually want this, or is it just there?”

9. Your weekends still count

Eating well Monday to Thursday and then treating Friday night through Sunday as a free-for-all can easily undo the consistency you've worked hard to create.

That doesn't mean summer preparation requires giving up dinners, birthdays or a glass of wine.

Enjoy them.

Just stop turning one treat meal into an entire treat weekend.

One meal doesn't ruin your progress.

And one healthy meal doesn't create it either.

Your overall pattern matters most.

10. Get serious about sleep

We talk endlessly about food and exercise and barely enough about sleep.

But trying to make good choices when you're exhausted is hard.

Poor sleep can affect your energy, hunger and motivation to exercise.

Create a routine.

Get off your phone.

Go to bed a little earlier.

Keep your room dark.

And stop treating recovery like wasted time.

Your body needs recovery too.

11. Have a plan for the afternoon danger zone

You know that 3pm feeling.

Lunch feels like a distant memory.

Energy disappears.

Suddenly the office biscuit cupboard becomes extremely interesting.

Instead of waiting until you're ravenous, plan for it.

Have an easy protein or fibre-rich option ready.

Fruit and yoghurt.

Protein Water.

A boiled egg.

Cottage cheese.

A handful of nuts.

Something simple that prevents hunger from turning into random snacking for the rest of the afternoon.

12. Forget perfection. Track consistency.

You're going to have meals out.

You're going to miss workouts.

You're going to eat dessert.

You're going to have days when everything doesn't go according to plan.

That's normal.

Don't let one imperfect day become an excuse to quit for a week.

The women who get results aren't necessarily perfect.

They're simply good at getting back to their routine.

One meal doesn't make you healthy.

One meal doesn't make you unhealthy.

What you repeatedly do matters.
